What People Are Saying
“The Coaches genuinely care”
This is my home away from home. I love training here with my family. The knowledge and experience the collective Coaches bring to the table is world class. They do an amazing job working with all levels, backgrounds and ages and consistently push us all to be better, whether it’s getting a workout in for the day or preparing for competition.
The Coaches genuinely care about the team’s progression and always take their time to be detailed and technical when instructing. More importantly, they consistently encourage us to ask questions and have fun!
Sensei Kevin is an amazing instructor and fosters a safe and respectful environment for everyone. His passion for teaching both judo and jiujitsu shines through in every class and makes us all better players.

“The Best place I’ve ever trained”
The best place I’ve ever trained! The senseis are an amazing group of people and I was motivated to go every day I could. I would recommend anyone to train here, whether just starting or as a veteran to Judo or BJJ.

“ An amazing Community”
This is an amazing community! I love going here because every time I take my kids to judo practice, I (as an adult) take away a piece of wisdom about life. Sensei Kevin, Sensei Tracy, and Sensei Jared are teaching these kids amazing skills and principles, both on the mat and off the mat. They treat every member like family and build a community that demonstrates hard work, good values, and friendship. Thank you to everyone! We appreciate you more than you know.

“My family has been going to TVJ&J for a few years”
My family has been going to TVJ&J for a few years now. Great place. They offer kids classes as well as beginner/teen/adult Judo and BJJ. The instructors are awesome and really put the students first. Come try it out for a great workout. We feel very fortunate to have TVJ&J in Pleasanton.

“The way they teach judo is amazing”
I was training Judo for around a year and a little less jiu jitsu mostly with Sensei Kevin and Sensei Eduard.
This place is great and the way the teach judo is amazing. Usually 4-5 coaches on the mats, kids are split in the groups by age and level. There is lesson plan written on the walls for every group. It's no more than Olympic level of training.
It's also happening BJJ classed in the morning where you can work on your newaza skills, but be careful Sensei Eduard might be to excited and go a little hard on you. My recommendation as a competing bjj blue belt - never stays on bottom with him, try to pass the guard and proceed through knee-on-belly to the spinning armbar - very effective technique against bigger and stronger opponent :)
I personally highly recommend this place and trying to stop by every time I'm in the area. 5 stars!
